João Cesar Monteiro

I was invited by the artist Ana Biscaia to participate in the special edition number 59 of the regional newspaper o palhinhas & ca. Edition dedicated to the director João César Monteiro (1939-2003), one of the most important Portuguese directors.

In the comic, I decided to work on the film The Comedy of God (Venice Film Festival, 1995). I tried to play with the experimental aesthetics of the film and the attitudes of hedonism, scandal and satire through the dialogue between image and text.
